Earlier this week, a friend of mine sent me an invitation to a “community resistance gathering.” It came in the form of a text message with a link to a website called Mobilize dot US. My friend was likely unaware of my complex political views, specifically that the two-party system is an illusion made to fragment Americans against one another. I declined her invitation, but examined this organizing website and its backers. What I found was very troublesome, and I also noticed the link she sent me contained tracking information that could potentially violate the privacy of all the people she sent the link to. Many of the large-scale protests over the past year have been backed by questionable organizations with very deep pockets. Gone are the days of truly grassroots organizations, and most people should do considerably more research before buying into protest groups that may just be fronts of Political Action Groups (PACs), big tech tracking and US intelligence agencies.

Tracking and Tracing Protestors

I’ve censored personal information from the above text message. I did not click on the link in this e-mail, but I did visit the event page. Before doing so, I removed all the tracking information after the ?. You’ll notice this link has a lot of completely unnecessary tracking information. It has a referring_vol parameter that contains an eight digit integer. The rname variable literally contains my friend’s entire first name! Examining the source of the page, it has both Google and Facebook tracking. By handing out this link, it allows for the possibility of the website owners, Meta/Facebook and Google, to build a complex tracking network for every single individual who clicks on this link. Google could easily associate identities with Gmail accounts. Facebook could probably connect this information to my identity as well. Even though I deleted my Facebook account years ago, it’s very likely Facebook keeps shadow accounts for people who have never signed up for, or have deleted, their accounts¹.

Follow the Money

I’ve previously covered how the LA protests over immigration raids were tied to the Department of Homeland Security-funded communist organizations, a big tech mogul and the Chinese Communist Party. Looking up information on Mobilize America, they appear to be a PAC founded in 2017, used by several Democratic candidates in the 2018 elections². They’ve given over $65,000 to Yasmin Radjy³, who was the National Director of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund in 2019⁴. (Planned Parenthood has become one of the largest distributors of transgender sex hormones to teenagers as young as sixteen). Mobilize also used their influence to promote the “Tesla Takedown⁵⁶,” a campaign that contributed to the burning and vandalism of Tesla vehicles⁷⁸⁹.

Mobilize was acquired by EveryAction, a parent of NGP VAN, which itself was acquired by Apax Partners in a $2 billion deal¹⁰. Needless to say, there are major sources of money and large players tied to this entity that is organizing political action groups all over the country. This has been a trend, as earlier this year, it was revealed the No Kings protests were funded by over $2 billion from nearly 200 Democrat aligned groups, some of which are 501(c)(3) nonprofits restricted from partisan advocacy¹¹. Other contributors included the American Federation of Teachers and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)¹².

Grassroots

In 2008, I was part of a group in my hometown that organized a protest over the Iraq War. My contributions included creating the website and flyers. We communicated over Yahoo Groups and e-mail, and what we did felt truly organic and grassroots.

During that year I also covered protests at the Federal Reserve and for Troy Davis in Atlanta, as well as a vigil for Troy Davis in Chattanooga. More recently I covered a Back the Blue rally in Chicago. Although some of the people at these rallies and protests may have been ideologues, I still feel as if many of these groups came together of their own volition.

The Current Situation

That’s not to say I defend what is currently happening politically in my country. I think Trump’s recent announcement to deploy soldiers to the nation’s capital¹³ is a violation of the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878. Leaked memos have suggested the Trump administration is planning on expanding these efforts to other major cities¹⁴. Trump calling it “liberation day” is literally an example of Orwellian DoubleSpeak and tyranny¹⁵. The fact that conservatives are embracing this decision is truly frightening¹⁶, because it’s obvious these same people would be screaming from the rooftops if such actions had been taken by the previous administration.

Yet when it comes to these large-scale, highly organized protests that simultaneously blanket the country, I cannot help but question who is funding these groups. I do not think there is a significant difference between the two major political parties in America. People supporting these massively funded protest groups are falling into the trap of the false left/right delusion. The people who oppose the authoritarian measures by the current administration are likely the same people who opposed protesting the illegal and immoral lockdowns of 2020. Yet only a few months later, this is the same political side that embraced media-induced outrage to engage in massive rioting throughout America based on a misleading video.

These massive national protest organizations, on both sides of the fake political spectrum, are very well funded. Either by design or emergence, they are splitting the most outraged members of American citizenry against one another. Most people are moving away from a political center where dialogue and arguments coexist with freedom and democracy. They are embracing forms of authoritarianism when it’s their political spokesperson who decries it, while rejecting liberty when it comes from their opposition. Combining these organizations with digital tracking allows for massive information gathering and data points to refine these divisive policies, furthering people along into a unified technocratic control mechanism.

I hope people can take a step back from their political sides and biases and come to realize we are all being manipulated by those who have mastered the use of directed outrage to divide friends and families, brothers and sisters. The true opposition does not come in blindly following rallies behind massive Facebook groups. It comes from rejecting the false left/right narrative and sharing with one another the true concerns of the human heart and embracing the freedom of speech and thought that are the foundation of being an American.
